IoT made simple
From storyboarding to production screens — a complete redesign of Denbu's IoT system builder with a new design language.
Overview
Denbu lets users build and purchase custom IoT systems. Their existing interface assumed deep technical knowledge. We redesigned the entire product: new design language, simplified user flows, and screens that guide anyone through building a connected system.

The challenge
IoT configuration is inherently complex. The previous UI was built for engineers — but the actual buyers were facility managers and small business owners with no IoT background. We had to simplify without losing power.
Denbu builder — new system design flow

Our approach
We started with storyboarding to map every user decision. Then we rebuilt the flow as a guided journey: understand → configure → purchase. Technical concepts are explained in plain language with contextual visuals at every step.
- →Storyboarding sessions to map the full user journey
- →Step-by-step guided builder replacing open-ended forms
- →New logo and visual identity — clear, trustworthy, modern
- →Error states (like a friendly 'Oops' screen) that don't panic users
Logo ideation → final mark

The outcome
The redesign reduced configuration time significantly. Non-technical users can now complete their first IoT setup without support tickets. The new design language positions Denbu as a serious but approachable platform.
